The film was shot in both Hindi and Tamil simultaneously. However, despite having the steller starcast, the film made the slow start on the 1<sup>st<\/sup> day of its release. On Day 2, it has accelerated, though<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most eagerly waited films of the month has been Merry Christmas. First-time collaborators Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi came together for the film, which was directed by Sriram Raghavan of Andhadhun and Badlapur fame. But Day 1 had a slow start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Day 2 saw the movie build up steam. Early estimates place its collection at Rs 3.50 crores, up from Day 1&#8217;s Rs 2.55 crores. The total amount collected is estimated to be Rs 6.05 crores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday, the movie&#8217;s Tamil occupancy was 26.48%, while its Hindi occupancy was 18.15%. Merry Christmas is a thriller, but not just any old thriller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The film&nbsp;is about two strangers named Albert (Vijay) and Maria (Katrina Kaif) who accidentally meet paths and are pulled into a chain of bad things that happen to them. When a Sriram Raghavan film is involved, you know you are in for a wild trip, and Merry Christmas does not let you down.
