No flight operation at the Delhi airport from January 19 to January 26 between 10:20 am to 12:45 pm. The order was issued given the Republic Day preparations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued on Friday, there will be no flights to be allowed to land-at or take-off from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the reports, the government has imposed airspace restrictions that will be in effect until Republic Day and again on January 29 for the Beating Retreat ceremony at Vijay Chowk in Delhi. Furthermore, the Delhi airport will remain closed on Republic Day from 6 am to 9 pm, and no flights will be allowed to take-off or land during this period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NOTAM will not affect helicopter operations of the Air Force, Army, or Border Security Force, or aircraft operated by the centre that are ferrying the Governor or Chief Minister of a state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, a passenger, who was aboard on Delhi-Goa IndiGo flight, slapped the aircraft\u2019s pilot after he announced a 13-hour flight delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident occurred on the delayed IndiGo flight (6E-2175) from Delhi to Goa on Sunday. The irate passenger\u2019s identity has been confirmed as Sahil Kataria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As many as 110 flights faced delays and 79 flights were cancelled at the Delhi airport today, as per the reports. The average delay of 50 minutes compounded the frustration of passengers facing extensive flight disruptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, a cold war between the Congress leader Shashi Tharoor and Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia over flight delays and cancellations at Delhi airport for the last few days because of dense fog, leading to chaos at the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a series of tweets on X, Congress MP Tharoor pointed out all the negligence and incompetence of the central government and called it a Modi-government-made disaster. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tharoor said Delhi Airport has been in chaos recently. The young professional wanted to go home for Makar Sankranti. The Army officer was excited to visit his ancestral village for Lohri. The anxious son trying to get home to take care of an unwell parent. Thousands of peoples\u2019 lives and schedules have been disrupted by a regular, predictable, foggy winter day.
