India’s star cricketer Virat Kohli will not be available for Team India under\u00a0captain Rohit Sharma for the first two Test matches of the awaited five-match series against England. On Monday, days after making his T20I comeback at home against Afghanistan, Kohli withdrew from India’s upcoming red-ball assignment, claiming personal concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first two Test matches are scheduled to take place in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, which will be missed by the former World No. 1 batter. On Thursday, the first Test is scheduled to start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that Kohli had withdrawn his name from the team ahead of the Test series and gave the former captain of India its support. In an official statement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said, Virat Kohli had asked to be removed from the first two Test matches of the upcoming IDFC First Bank Test series against England due to personal reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was also mentioned that before making this choice, Kohli conferred with team management, selection committee members, and captain Rohit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, team India will shortly reveal Kohli’s replacement, according to BCCI. For India, Kohli has participated in 113 Test matches. The 35-year-old has scored 8,848 runs for the Asian heavyweights in 191 Test innings at an average of 49.16.
