{"id":499741,"date":"2024-01-24T14:43:18","date_gmt":"2024-01-24T09:13:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=499741"},"modified":"2024-01-24T15:10:32","modified_gmt":"2024-01-24T09:40:32","slug":"air-india-fine-dgca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/india-news\/air-india-fine-dgca\/","title":{"rendered":"Air India fined Rs 1.10 crore by aviation watchdog DGCA for safety violations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Air India has been fined Rs 1.10 crore by the aviation watchdog, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for safety violations with respect to operations of leased Boeing 777 planes to the US.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to reports, within a week, this is the second time that the regulator has imposed a penalty on Air India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report further suggested that the watchdog had received a complaint from an ex-Air India pilot alleging that the airline operated on Boeing 777 planes to the US without having the necessary system of emergency oxygen supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Aviation regulator DGCA slaps Rs 1.10 crore penalty on Air India for safety violations<\/p>&mdash; Press Trust of India (@PTI_News) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PTI_News\/status\/1750058827339256242?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 24, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After receiving the complaint, the regulator carried out a detailed probe into the matter that violated the safety norms, as per the release on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The watchdog DGCA conducted a comprehensive investigation into the alleged violations and the prima facie investigation has revealed non-compliance by the airline, according to the reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the aviation regulator statement, pursuant to the receipt of a voluntary safety report from an airline employee alleging safety violations of flights operated by M\/s Air India on certain long-range terrain critical routes, DGCA conducted a comprehensive investigation into the alleged violations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement further stated that a Show Cause Notice was issued to the Accountable Manager of Air India Limited. Since the investigation prima facie revealed non-compliance by the airline, said the statement.
