The cold wave continues in Delhi and today the residents of national capital woke up to thick fog and poor visibility. Many cities in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, three nearby states, experienced the similar circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, very dense fog in isolated pockets of northwest Rajasthan; dense fog in isolated pockets of East Uttar Pradesh; moderate fog in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, and West UP and shallow fog in isolated pockets of Delhi,\u00a0in a statement posted on the microblogging platform X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Tuesday, a heavy layer of fog covered many areas of Delhi, including Janpath Road, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, and Nirankari Colony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the IMD news release, the national capital’s minimum temperature was predicted to stay 7 degrees Celsius around 8 a.m and it is predicted that the maximum temperature will be around 22 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fog continued to hamper flight and train operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
While landings and takeoffs continue at Delhi Airport, flights that are not CAT III complaint may get affected, Delhi Airport said in a statement on X. If there are any updates, passengers are asked to get in touch with the relevant airline, the statement continued. The airport authority said, they truly regret any inconvenience this may have caused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dense fog throughout January is seriously reducing both general and runway visual range visibility, which interferes with aviation movement as visibility drops below acceptable levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The decreased visibility in the nation’s capital affected train operations as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of the time this report was written, Mumbai Rajdhani train number 22221 was more than one hour late. In the same way, Banglore Rajdhani train number 22691 was over two hours late. August Kranti Rajdhani Express, train number 12953, was also late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With an AQI of roughly 328, the national capital’s air quality stayed in the Very Poor category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
