{"id":500312,"date":"2024-01-31T15:51:06","date_gmt":"2024-01-31T10:21:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=500312"},"modified":"2024-01-31T15:51:09","modified_gmt":"2024-01-31T10:21:09","slug":"delhi-airport-protest-indigo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/trending\/delhi-airport-protest-indigo\/","title":{"rendered":"Bandh Karo, Bandh Karo: Passengers protest at Delhi airport after IndiGo cancels Deoghar-bound flight, video goes viral"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hundreds of travellers at the Delhi airport were observed yelling and shouting slogans against&nbsp;airline&nbsp;on Wednesday after&nbsp;the purported cancellation of their flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a video that was posted online it can be heard that the passengers were\u00a0screaming\u00a0&#8220;band karo, band karo&#8221; (stop it) upon the cancellation of their flight from Delhi to Deoghar, Jharkhand.\u00a0As soon as it was posted, it quickly went viral in no time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Delhi&#8217;s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday morning, bad weather caused over 10 flights to be cancelled and over 50 flights to be delayed, according to flight tracking website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WATCH?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#WATCH<\/a> | Passengers of Delhi-Deoghar IndiGo flight raise slogans and protest against the airline after it cancels the flight originating from Terminal 2 of Delhi airport <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/L8Nj1cW4Vq\">pic.twitter.com\/L8Nj1cW4Vq<\/a><\/p>&mdash; ANI (@ANI) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ANI\/status\/1752586728928641091?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 31, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>IndiGo said in an advisory earlier in the day that bad weather is anticipated to affect flight operations in Delhi, Srinagar, and Chandigarh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Please keep a check on your flight status before leaving for the airport,&#8221; IndiGo said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this month, when IndiGo&#8217;s&nbsp;passengers were waiting for their flight to take off, food was spotted being consumed on the tarmac, then the airline&nbsp;was fined Rs&nbsp;1.2 lakh for five violations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) described it as a violation of apron discipline&nbsp;and said, on January 15, passengers of two IndiGo planes remained on the apron at the CSMI Airport, Mumbai (MIAL), for a significant amount of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DGCA learned about this through social media. This is against DGCA Air Safety Circular 04 of 2007 Paragraph 5, which instructs all airport agencies not to allow people to walk on an operating apron.
