He said dedication of Indian Coast Guard to maritime safety, national security and care for the environment is unparalleled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said India salutes them for their unwavering vigilance and service. The Indian Coast Guard is tasked with maritime law enforcement. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) celebrated its 48<sup>th<\/sup> Raising Day in New Delhi on Thursday, commemorating its remarkable journey from a modest beginning in 1977 to become a formidable force in Maritime security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">On the 48th raising day of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IndiaCoastGuard?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@indiacoastguard<\/a>, I convey my best wishes and greetings to all their personnel and staff. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Director General, Rakesh Pal, has said that the biggest achievement of the Indian Coast Guard in recent times has been the surface and air assets that are being deployed regularly, with about 55 to 60 ships and 10-12 aircraft everyday out at sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Indian Coast Guard Director, Rakesh Pal added in the last year, they have had many drug apprehension cases which went upto Rs 480 crore. He said the Indian Coast Guard has also apprehended some weapons as well as yellow metals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;He said as far as search and rescue is concerned, the ICG is always there out at the fringes of the EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone). He said every second and third day the Indian Coast Guard is rescuing seafarers and this also includes fishermen as well.
