Shiv Sena leader Mahesh Gaikwad suffered injuries after he was shot by the BJP MLA. Mahesh has been hospitalised. An FIR has been filed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports said Ganpat Gaikwad claimed that he used the gun because his son was being abused at the police station. Ganpat Gaikwad reached\u00a0the police station later. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After arguments among the assembled persons, Ganpat Gaikwad allegedly fired at the Shiv Sena MLA and his entourage inside the senior inspector&#8217;s room. During interrogation, Ganpat Gaikwad admitted he shot Mahesh. He also said that he had no regrets on what he has done. Ganpat asked how else will one respond if one&#8217;s son is being beaten in front of police in the police station?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mahesh was sent to Thane&#8217;s Jupiter Hospital after suffering gunshot injuries. He underwent a successful surgery, Sena Kalyan in-charge Gopal Landge said. The police have detained two other people apart from Ganpat Gaikwad. They have been charged under Sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ganpat Gaikwad was taken to the police station for a medical examination.
