The personal secretary of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and several Aam Aadmi Party leaders were subjected to raids by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday. 12 locations linked to the personal secretary have been investigated by the ED as part of its money laundering investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The raids are related to the investigation into money laundering that is connected to the purported Delhi Jal Board issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Rajya Sabha member ND Gupta, Kejriwal’s personal secretary Bibhav Kumar, and other people are being searched by the agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The former chief engineer of the Jal Board was detained by the agency last month in relation to the case under the PMLA statute. A businessman is also taken into custody on identical allegations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agency claims that even though NKG Infrastructure Ltd. did not meet the technical eligibility criteria, Jagdish Kumar Arora, the chief engineer of the Delhi Jal Board at the time, allegedly gave the company a contract for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of electromagnetic flow metres for a total cost of Rs 38 crore. NKG Infrastructure Ltd. was able to win the bid by providing documents that were either forged or misleading, as was discovered during the ED’s inquiry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After further investigation, it came to light that Anil Kumar Aggarwal’s company, Integral Screws Ltd., was the subcontractor to NKG Infrastructure Ltd. Aggarwal allegedly used cash and bank transactions to bribe Jagdish Kumar Arora after receiving funds, transferring approximately Rs 3 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, it was found that bribe payments were sent through bank accounts that belonged to Arora’s relatives and colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The raid came days after Delhi Chief Minister and AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal skipped the fifth summons issued by the probe agency to appear for questioning in a money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
