He took to X and wrote he joined the people of India in wishing a speedy recovery and good health to His Majesty King Charles III.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Buckingham Palace in a statement on Monday said that Britain\u2019s King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer and has begun treatment. The palace did not disclose what form of cancer the King has been diagnosed with, but said it\u2019s not related to his recent treatment for a benign prostrate condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I join the people of India in wishing speedy recovery and good health to His Majesty King Charles III. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/86mKg9lE1q\">https:\/\/t.co\/86mKg9lE1q<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/narendramodi\/status\/1754730459429278192?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 6, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The 75-year-old will suspend public engagements but will continue with state business, and won\u2019t be handing over his constitutional roles as head of state. The Palace said in a statement that diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer. It said His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Palace said throughout this period, his majesty will continue to undertake state business and official paperwork as usual.&nbsp; The statement said the king is being treated as an outpatient. Charles who has generally enjoyed good health, remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Palace statement said the king has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer. Charles became king in September 2022 when his mother Queen Elizabeth II, died at the age of 96 after 70 years on the throne.
