Valentine’s Day, which falls on February 14, is quickly approaching, and people have begun planning accordingly. However, in several parts of Bengaluru a-3 day liquor ban has been announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This liquor ban has been annouced Ddue to the February 16, 2024 Legislative Council By-Election to the Bangalore Teachers Constituency, which will start on February 14, 2024 and conclude on February 17, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The election is scheduled for February 16. The ban will start from 5:00 PM on February 14 and will end on 6:00 AM on February 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The liquor ban has been ordered by the Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru Urban, KA Dayananda and this decision was taken by him on the basis of the powers vested under Section 135(c) of Representation of People Act, 1951 and considering Rule 10(b) of the Karnataka Excise Rules, 1967.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionaly,\u00a0on February 7, 2024, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has called for a Chalo Delhi protest\u00a0which is scheduled to take place\u00a0at the Jantar Mantar. This appeal is directed towards the financial tyranny of the Centre, that is, the state government claims there hasn’t been enough tax devolution or grants-in-aid to the State. It has been made clear that the purpose of this protest is not to pit the Congress and BJP against one another, but rather to expose the unfair treatment of the people of Karnataka by the Union Government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
