Delhi Police arrested Riyaz Ahmed, a retired army soldier suspected of being associated with the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), at the New Delhi Railway Station on Sunday. This arrest follows after the Jammu & Kashmir Police dismantled a LeT cell operating in Kupwara district, which revealed a plot to carry out attacks in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports Ahmad played an active role in this conspiracy along with two other individuals, Khursheed Ahmad Rather and Ghulam Sarwar Rather, coordinating with contacts across the line of control (LoC) to procure arms and ammunition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talking to the media, Delhi Police said the accused, Riyaz Ahmed, was a retired army personnel and was actively involved in hatching a plan along with his associates from across the border by the terrorist handlers of LeT for carrying out militant activities in Jammu & Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
