The protest at Jantar Mantar also witnessed 28 MLCs and five Rajya Sabha MPs. The Karnataka CM said Karnataka has been ranked two after Maharashtra as far as tax collection is concerned. In fact, this year Karnataka is contributing more than Rs 4.30 lakh crores as tax, he shared the data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further, he explained the share of the state in tax collection and return. Siddaramaiah said, for instance, if the state collects Rs 100 as tax and gives it to the central government, it only receives Rs 12-13 back as the state share, he further added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deputy CM Shivakumar, during the protest, said Congress is confident about getting justice. Devolution of taxes, the state is not getting the drought relief amount, he added. The centre should understand that Karnataka is an economic powerhouse, he further added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kharge also said that he is aware of the system but he asked how come in the previous system the state got 1% more and now, in this system the state is getting fewer shares. He raised a concern asking there must be a person who is recommending the provide less shares for Karnataka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Karnataka BJP leaders held a protest against the State at Vidhan Soudha in Bengaluru over the alleged misuse of funds by the Karnataka government.
