It&#8217;s the first time an Indian pacer has risen to the top of the Test bowler rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bumrah, who recently made history by becoming the fastest Indian speedster to reach 150 Test wickets, jumped to the top of the rankings for the first time when his side defeated England by 106 runs in the second Test in Vizag, thanks to his outstanding match statistics of 9\/91.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With his nine-wicket haul in the second Test, Bumrah was named Player of the Match. Kagiso Rabada, the speed spearhead from South Africa, is still in second position after missing the Proteas&#8217; Test series in New Zealand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 34 Test match outings, Bumrah has taken 10 five-wicket hauls for India, but this is the first time, a&nbsp;the 30-year-old has finished higher than third. With figures of 6\/61 against South Africa in Cape Town at the beginning of the year and an equally impressive 6\/45 in his most recent match against England, Bumrah has amassed two five-wicket hauls in Test matches in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prabath Jayasuriya, a spinner from Sri Lanka, shot up to No. 6 after taking five wickets in the final Test match against Afghanistan at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nathan Lyon rose two spots to No. 8 in the rankings as he achieved the milestone of 500 Test wickets during the series against Pakistan. In the bowling rankings, Ollie Robinson and Ravindra Jadeja fell two spots to No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joe Root, who struggled in the first two Test matches against India, fell one spot to No. 3.
