Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren\u2019s Enforcement Directorate custody has been extended for 5 days today. His advocate general Rajeev Ranjan, said Soren has been kept in a room, in basement which has no sunlight even.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ranjan said, there is no sunlight, and air only enters through a conduit. Hemant Soren is watched over by armed guards even while he is asleep. Hemant Soren was placed under ED remand on February 2, and that period has been extended for an additional five days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The former Jharkhand CM has been questioned for 120 hours over the past five days, AG said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, Hemant Soren participated in the Champai Soren government’s floor test on February 5, which the JMM-led coalition won with a 47:29 majority. Soren discussed his arrest and how Dalits and tribal people are persecuted in society before the vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said, if there is any proof against him, he would resign from politics and that the governor’s house had also contributed to his arrest. Hemant Soren was brought back to the ED office following the floor test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Soren said, January 31st marked a darkest period in India’s history. At the Raj Bhavan’s request, a chief minister was taken into custody. Hemant Soren said, the BJP did not permit a tribal chief minister to serve five years in Jharkhand, not even during their own administration. Soren said, he is not going to cry right now. At the proper time, he will respond to the feudal forces, he continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, his wife Kalpana Soren posted from Hemant Soren’s X account today, on their 18th<\/sup> wedding anniversary. In her long post she said, in order to preserve Jharkhand’s identity, Hemant ji did not bow down. Kalpana said her husband made the decision to dedicate himself and fight this conspiracy.
