He had suffered a stroke on February 10 and was admitted to Apollo Hospital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chakraborty spoke to the media upon his discharge and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called him during his stay in the hospital and reprimanded him for not taking due care of himself. The actor revealed he was feeling better now and was absolutely fine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>Disco Dancer <\/em>star said he would have to keep a close watch on his food habits. An Apollo Hospital said the 73-year-old actor was brought to the Emergency Department of Apollo Multispecialty Hospitals, Kolkata, around 9.40 am with a complaint of weakness in the right upper and lower limbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The news of his health condition came a few days after it was announced he will be honoured with a Padma Bhushan Award 2024. Mithun Chakraborty started his career in films in 1976 with the Mrinal Sen-directed Mrigayaa and has been the recipient of many prestigious honours, including the National Award. He joined the BJP in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Kolkata\u2019s historic Brigade Parade Ground on March 7, 2021. &nbsp;The BJP had positioned Chakraborty, said to be a former Naxalite, as a challenge to the electoral might of the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress, which is in its third term ruling West Bengal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The actor was a crowdpuller at election rallies bringing in the crowds lured by his filmi dialogues ususally centered on seeking vengeance and the ilk.
