National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah on Thursday said that his party will contest alone from Jammu and Kashmir in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In another setback to the Opposition bloc INDIA, Abdullah asserted that his party will contest alone without any doubt about it. He further said that the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections could probably take place at the same time as the Lok Sabha election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh said that his party has been in talks with them. He further said that every party has their own limitations. On the INDIA bloc, he said NC and PDP have been part of the alliance and will continue to remain so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier in January, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee announced that her party Trinamool Congress would fight the Lok Sabha elections alone in all the constituencies in the state. The statement from the TMC chief came after failed seat-sharing talks with the opposition bloc INDIA ally Congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, the decision to fight Lok Sabha elections alone in the state by TMC supremo came a day after a closed-door meeting between CM Banerjee and her party leaders. In the meeting, TMC chief Banerjee and party leaders decided to fight the Lok Sabha elections alone and not to think about seat-sharing meetings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In February, the AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that his party will contest all the fourteen Lok Sabha seats in Punjab alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
