He also said Kumar&nbsp;is always&nbsp;welcomed&nbsp;to return to the Mahagathbandhan alliance in the event that the Janata Dal (United) leader chooses to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nitish Kumar&#8217;s dramatic switch last month from the Congress and longtime rival Lalu Prasad Yadav to the BJP, along with the resulting to\u00a0criticism from former allies, was seen as the Janata Dal (United) boss ruining bridges, possibly to the extent that not even the Bihar Chief Minister&#8217;s &#8216;paltu Kumar&#8217; avatar would be able to repair them.<br><br>Lalu\u00a0Yadav said,\u00a0this might not be the case, saying, &#8220;(J)ab aayenge toh dekhenge, khula hi rehta hai darwaaza&#8230; which translates into English, when he comes, we will see&#8230; door is always open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">STORY | Doors always open for Nitish, says Lalu<br><br>READ: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/t8dH1luZ6X\">https:\/\/t.co\/t8dH1luZ6X<\/a><br>  <br>(PTI Photo) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/3tmF4TgMUp\">pic.twitter.com\/3tmF4TgMUp<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Press Trust of India (@PTI_News) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PTI_News\/status\/1758404799056224362?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 16, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This comes days after meeting Nitish Kumar at the Bihar Assembly, where the latter&#8217;s party was nominating Manoj Jha and Sanjay Yadav for the Rajya Sabha, Lalu Yadav made an unexpected remark.<br><br>That marked the first meeting between the two, who ruled Bihar&#8217;s political scene for decades and have occasionally fallen out of favor since Nitish Kumar severed his links to Lalu Yadav in favor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu&nbsp;Yadav&#8217;s son, who served as Nitish Kumar&#8217;s deputy chief minister twice, has shown less tolerance and attacked his previous boss at this week&#8217;s trust vote.<br><br>But based on what the JDU leader said last week, it doesn&#8217;t seem like (another) U-turn is possible.<br><br>Nitish Kumar said, they (the JDU and the BJP) were together earlier (but) twice he went \u2018idhar, udhar (here, there)&#8217;.
