The 2.3 kilometer long bridge was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in October 2017, with the statement that it will connect the old and modern Dwarka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to an official announcement, the four-lane, 27.20-meter-wide bridge has 2.50-meter-wide footpaths\u00a0on each side. The unique design of Sudarshan Setu has a pathway flanked on both sides by pictures of Lord Krishna and verses from the Bhagavad Gita.On the higher sections of the footpath, solar panels have also been installed, producing one megawatt of electricity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"is\" dir=\"ltr\">Stunning Sudarshan Setu! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VpNlb95WMe\">pic.twitter.com\/VpNlb95WMe<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/narendramodi\/status\/1761617216334864707?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 25, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Before the bridge was built, pilgrims had to take boats to get to Beyt Dwarka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bridge was formerly known as Signature Bridge,&nbsp;but it is now called Sudarshan Setu,&nbsp;or Sudarshan Bridge.
