He also sincerely thanked Hon\u2019ble PM Narendra Modi and Hon\u2019ble Home Minister Amit Shah for giving him the opportunity to serve the people. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he contended&nbsp;and won the East Delhi constituency by a wide margin of 6,95,109 votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision to step down from politics coincides with rumors that he might not be given a ticket for the 2024 elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Gambhir&#8217;s decision was taken a few days before his return to KKR as their new mentor. Head coach Chandrakant Pandit&nbsp;will collaborate closely with the former opener for India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From 2011 to 2017, Gambhir captained the Kolkata-based team, helping them win the IPL titles in 2012 and 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, for the 2024 Lok Sabha election, the BJP is anticipated to shortly unveil its first list of candidates, which would include prominent figures like Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The list will contain over 100 names.
