{"id":50498,"date":"2018-10-10T18:37:47","date_gmt":"2018-10-10T13:07:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=50498"},"modified":"2018-10-10T18:40:17","modified_gmt":"2018-10-10T13:10:17","slug":"supreme-court-orders-sealing-nine-amrapali-group-properties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/india-news\/supreme-court-orders-sealing-nine-amrapali-group-properties\/","title":{"rendered":"Supreme Court orders sealing of nine Amrapali group properties"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The Supreme Court said that only court-appointed forensic auditors and their authorised representatives could enter the premises of the nine properties to be sealed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A day after it sent three directors of Amrapali real estate firm to police custody, the Supreme Court today (Wednesday, October 10) ordered sealing of nine of its properties where account books of its 46 group companies are kept.<\/p>\n<p>A bench of Justice Arun Mishra and Justice UU Lalit ordered the sealing of Amrapali properties in Noida, Greater Noida, Rajgir and Buxar in Bihar and asked the keys to be handed over to the SC registrar.<\/p>\n<p>The SC order came after three directors of the real estate group, who were sent to police custody on Tuesday, informed the bench that all documents relating to 46 group companies were stacked in the nine properties.<\/p>\n<p>Amrapali promoter Anil Kumar Sharma and its two directors Shiv Priya and Ajay Kumar were sent to police custody after they failed to hand over all the documents related to the accounts of the companies to the forensic auditors twice, on September 12 and 26.<\/p>\n<p>The court said that the company was playing \u201chide and seek\u201d with the court and not complying with its orders of handing over all the documents. It said they would remain in police custody till the documents are seized and handed over.<\/p>\n<p>The court on Wednesday ordered the three directors to file an undertaking that no documents are kept at any other place except at these nine properties of the real estate firm.<\/p>\n<p>The apex court further said that only court-appointed forensic auditors and their authorised representatives could enter the premises of the nine properties to be sealed. On September 12, the apex court had appointed Ravi Bhatia and Pawan Kumar Agarwal to conduct forensic audit of the group\u2019s accounts.<\/p>\n<p>The court also said that the directors be kept at police station and not in the lock up till the seven premises in Noida and Greater Noida are sealed.<\/p>\n<p>The order came on a batch of petitions filed by home buyers who are seeking possession of around 42,000 flats.<\/p>\n<p>The two auditors \u2014 Ravi Bhatia and Pawan Kumar Aggarwal \u2014 appointed by the court to conduct forensic audit of Amrapali Group, had said that they have not yet received all the documents, which the bench had termed as \u201cgross violation\u201d of its order.<\/p>\n<p>The bench had also noted that as per the two auditors, documents of only two out of 46 firms \u2014 Amrapali Zodiac and Amrapali Princely Estates \u2014 were handed over to them despite court\u2019s order to provide all documents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court said that only court-appointed forensic auditors and their authorised representatives could enter the premises of the nine properties to be sealed.
