{"id":505454,"date":"2024-03-16T14:09:29","date_gmt":"2024-03-16T08:39:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=505454"},"modified":"2024-04-16T18:25:27","modified_gmt":"2024-04-16T12:55:27","slug":"bjp-ajay-pratap-resign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/politics\/bjp-ajay-pratap-resign\/","title":{"rendered":"BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Pratap Singh resigns from party, says unhappy with selection of candidates for Lok Sabha elections"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The BJP\u2019s Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh, Ajay Pratap Singh on Saturday, resigned from the party\u2019s primary membership and said he was not happy with the selection process of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expressing his displeasure over BJP\u2019s Lok Sabha candidates selection process, he said although he wanted to contest from the Sidhi Lok Sabha seat, the BJP fielded Rajesh Mishra from there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Singh sent his resignation to BJP president J P Nadda and State president V D Sharma. His tenure as a Rajya Sabha member will end on April 2. He was not re-nominated by the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier on March 11, BJP MP Rahul Kaswan announced his resignation from the primary membership of the party after he was denied a ticket to contest the Lok Sabha elections. He joined Congress in the presence of party president Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He took to X and posted that he had made a big decision in public life. He added due to political reasons, at this very moment today, he is resigning from the primary membership of the BJP and the post of Member of Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kaswan thanked national president JP Nadda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for giving him an opportunity to serve the Churu Lok Sabha family for 10 years. Kaswan\u2019s resignation comes days after the BJP announced its Lok Sabha candidates for 15 out of 25 seats in Rajasthan, replacing the sitting MP with Paralympian Devendra Jhajharia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kaswan family has been winning the Churu Lok Sabha seat successfully since the 2004 general elections.
