However, the United Nations has declared March 21 to be the International Day of Nowruz, highlighting the holiday&#8217;s importance to culture and widespread observance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An annual global festival of zeal and grandeur, Nowruz is a beloved holiday with strong roots in Zoroastrianism. Countless countries, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, India, Iran, Iraq, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, which are situated along the ancient Silk Roads, come alive with colorful celebrations on Nowruz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The spring equinox and this Iranian or Persian New Year represent rebirth and fresh starts on the Iranian Solar Hijri calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With origins in ancient Persia, Navroz has been observed for more than 3,000 years. It is closely linked to Zoroastrianism, one of the oldest religions in the world. The celebration represents growth, rebirth, and the victory of light over darkness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vernal equinox, which signifies the change from winter to spring, is observed on Navroz. It&#8217;s a season of renewal and fresh starts, in the natural world and in people&#8217;s personal lives.
