Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday slammed rival Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray for Sanjay Raut\u2019s remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Shinde did not name Thackeray or Raut and said that a senior leader in the Uddhav Sena had compared PM Modi to Mughal emperor Aurangzeb and that doing so was an act of treason and an insult to the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shinde said Aurangzeb did not even spare his father and his brother. He further added now everyone knows who acted like Aurangzeb. Uddhav Thackeray fell out with his cousin Raj Thackeray, whose party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is likely to join the ruling coalition government in Maharashtra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shinde lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for fulfilling the dream Balasaheb Thackeray by revoking article 370. He said still the opposition leaders are comparing Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. He said the remarks are unfortunate. Shinde added Aurangzeb hurt the self respect of Maharashtra. He said comparing Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Mughal emperor is an insult to the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shiv Sena(UBT) leader Sanjay Raut had compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Aurangzeb. He said while Chhatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha empire, was born in Maharashtra. Aurangzeb was born in present day Gujarat, the home state of PM Modi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said there is place called Dahod (in Gujarat) where Modi was born, Aurangzeb was also born there. So this Auranzebi attitude is marching towards Maharshtra from Gujarat and Delhi, and also against Shiv Sena and its self respect. Raut referred to PM Modi as Auranzeb and said the Shiv Sena(UBT) will bury them. Shinde urged his MLAs to gear up for the upcoming elections and put in efforts in their respective constituencies.
