Two medical students lost their lives as their bike fell off the newly inaugurated Signature Bridge after ramming into a divider on Friday (November 23), police said. Another biker met with an accident similar to the former one today.<\/p>\n

Two men, identified as Shankar (24) and Deepak (17) were going from Nangloi towards northeast Delhi when their bike skidded on the bridge.<\/p>\n

Both were rushed to a nearby hospital. Shankar, who worked as a salesman, was declared dead at the hospital. His cousin Deepak, who was the pillion rider, was also injured.<\/p>\n

This is the second accident in less than 24 hours on the Signature Bridge<\/a>. Two medical students on a sports bike were killed on Friday morning after falling off the bridge.<\/p>\n

Chandra Shekhar (20) and Satya Vijay Shankaran (23) were on a KTM bike when it skidded into a divider, hurtling them down the bridge. They suffered head injuries and were rushed to the Sushrut Trauma Centre, where they were declared brought dead, said police.<\/p>\n

Additional DCP (east) Jasmeet Singh said: \u201cA PCR call was made regarding an accident between 8.45 am and 9 am. Police officials from Timarpur station confirmed that the men were taking a left turn towards Majnu Ka Tila when they lost control of the bike. The skid marks on the divider suggest the bike was being driven at a high speed. The bike toppled off the bridge, and sent both men falling 25-30 feet down.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier it was reported that the two victims were taking selfies which leads to their death but the police has denied the fact and said it wasn\u2019t the case.<\/p>\n
