\u201cSome windows and the main driver\u2019s windscreen were broken as a shower of ballast came fast towards the train when the Dibrugarh Rajdahani crossing on the adjoining line had a cattle run over\u201d, The Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Northern Railways said.<\/p>\n
The stone chunks hit the driver\u2019s windscreen and one each side outer glasses of windows of coach numbers C4, C6, C7, C8, C 13 and two glass panes of C 12 causing damage.<\/p>\n
An official statement from the Northern Railways read, \u201cThe enroute damage was assessed by the travelling technical team on board on the Vande Bharat Express on sight, and after careful examination, the train was found fit, so it carried out its on board journey to its destination station at its normal speed. The train has since then reached New Delhi railway station at 11:05 pm.\u201d<\/p>\n
Earlier, a stone was hurled at the train earlier this week on Wednesday and damaged one of its window panes. In December too, the train had suffered damage during its trial run when it was hit by stones twice near Tundla junction.<\/p>\n
The semi-high speed Train 18 or Vande Bharat Express can attain a maximum speed of 160 kmph and as officially been declared as the country\u2019s fastest train. It currently runs between Delhi and Varanasi.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
