{"id":58208,"date":"2019-03-05T17:22:42","date_gmt":"2019-03-05T11:52:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=58208"},"modified":"2019-03-05T17:47:08","modified_gmt":"2019-03-05T12:17:08","slug":"indian-navy-chief-warns-sea-borne-terror-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/india-news\/indian-navy-chief-warns-sea-borne-terror-attack\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian Navy Chief warns of sea-borne terror attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<a href=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/topic\/indian-navy\">Indian Navy<\/a> chief Admiral Sunil Lanba today (Tuesday, March 5) warned that terrorists are being trained to carry out sea-borne attacks on India.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a gathering of global experts at the Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue in New Delhi, Admiral Lanba said that the Pulwama terror attack was carried out by terrorists who were &#8220;aided by&#8221; a country that seeks to destabilise India.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We also have reports of terrorists being trained to carry out operations in various modus operandi, including through the medium of the sea,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The 26\/11 terror attack was carried out by ten sea-borne terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Taiba who hijacked an Indian fishing trawler to reach Mumbai and unleash mayhem.<\/p>\n<p>Lanba said that the most significant challenge of our time is terrorism. He also said that the Indo-Pakistan region has witnessed multiple form of terrorism in the recent years.<\/p>\n<p>The Navy chief did not name Pakistan as he said, \u201cIndia, however, faces a far more serious version of this state-sponsored terrorism. We have all witnessed the horrific scale of extremists attack on Indian state of J&amp;K, just 3 weeks ago. This violence was perpetuated by extremists, aided by a state which seeks to destabilise India.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have seen how quickly terror groups evolve across the globe. A particular brand of terror can well become a global problem in near future,&#8221; Admiral Lanba warned.<\/p>\n<p>The Indian security establishment is continuously working to address this menace, he said, noting that &#8220;it is imperative that the global community works in concert to contain and eliminate terrorism in all its forms&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Admiral Lanba also emphasised the importance of the Indo-Pacific Region. &#8220;There is a renewed focus of the world on the seas. This is principally due to the geo-economics and geopolitical significance of the maritime domain.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>India is a maritime nation and recently there have been an increasing attention to harness potential of the maritime domain for the country\u2019s growth and the regional development, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/topic\/indian-air-force\">Indian Armed forces<\/a> is on high alert since after the Pulwama attack which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF soldiers.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Indian Navy chief Admiral Sunil Lanba today (Tuesday, March 5) warned that terrorists are being trained to carry out sea-borne attacks on India.
