{"id":64639,"date":"2019-07-22T16:34:04","date_gmt":"2019-07-22T11:04:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=64639"},"modified":"2019-07-22T17:48:17","modified_gmt":"2019-07-22T12:18:17","slug":"iran-claims-captured-17-us-central-intelligence-agency-spies-awarded-death-sentence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/world-news\/iran-claims-captured-17-us-central-intelligence-agency-spies-awarded-death-sentence\/","title":{"rendered":"Iran claims it captured 17 U.S CIA spies and some awarded death sentence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Iran claims to have given death sentence to some of the 17 captured spies working for the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), said media reports quoting Iranian authorities today (Monday, July 22).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">T<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he arrests are said to have taken place after dismantling a CIA spy ring in a case announced last month..<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;The identified spies were employed in sensitive and vital sites in the economic, nuclear, infrastructure, military and cyber areas&#8230; where they collected classified information ,&#8221; of\u00a0 the country&#8217;s military and nuclear facilities, an Iranian intelligence official told a press conference in Tehran.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The official further claimed the CIA had promised those arrested US visas or jobs in America and that some of the agents had turned and were now working with his department &#8220;against the US.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He also submitted a CD with a video recording of an alleged foreign female spy working for the CIA.
