According to the police the matter came to light on August 8 when the minor\u2019s mother alleged that her daughter was sexually assuaulted by the sweeper in the school\u2019s washroom. When the girl came back from the school she was unable to narrate the whole incident but complained about pain in her abdomen. The parents understood and called the PCR and a complaint was lodged at Chittranjan\u00a0 Park police station.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The case was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the minor was sent to Judicial custody.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The medical reports of the victim at The All India Institute of Medical Sciences confirmed that the minor was sexually assaulted. The girl identified the accused, who\u2019s been working in that school for the past 20 years and the police took no time in arresting him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Statements of the victim and her mother have been recorded. CCTV footage and digital recorder have also been seized, they said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During interrogation, the man at first denied that <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he had committed the crime, but later confessed to assaulting the child. He confessed that when he entered the toilet to help the girl with her clothes, he sexually assaulted her. The police is yet to find out if this has happened with other children too.
