{"id":68638,"date":"2019-09-25T18:03:17","date_gmt":"2019-09-25T12:33:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=68638"},"modified":"2020-11-02T12:22:59","modified_gmt":"2020-11-02T06:52:59","slug":"yogi-adityanath-lawmakers-adopt-tb-patient","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/india-news\/yogi-adityanath-lawmakers-adopt-tb-patient\/","title":{"rendered":"Yogi Adityanath and UP lawmakers to adopt a TB patient each"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UP Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh on Tuesday, September 24, urged all UP ministers and legislators to adopt a tuberculosis (TB) patient each and help in achieving the target announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi of a TB free India by 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also adopt a TB patient.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UP Governor Anandiben Patel kick started this initiative by adopting a girl afflicted with the disease and her staff at the Raj Bhawan had followed suit by adopting 21 other affected children in Lucknow on August 25.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp;\u201cI would be adopting a TB patient very soon, probably in Siddharth Nagar, the region from where I got elected. Following the governor\u2019s appeal all of us would be adopting those in the grip of this disease. But again, it\u2019s not just about ministers, lawmakers or politicians. All have to join hands, and in fact in Varanasi\u2019s TB hospital several doctors have adopted patients,\u201d said health minister Jai Pratap Singh at the \u2018Coffee with HT\u2019 programme at HT office on Tuesday, September.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UP accounts for nearly 5.75 lakh TB patients and of these, 14,600 patients are reported to be in Lucknow alone, confirmed Dr PK Gupta, district leprosy officer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The minister announced that UP government has decided to provide all the hospitals with CB-NAAT test machine that provide the most definitive tests for tuberculosis to screen those afflicted with the disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Also Read:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/world-news\/us-house-representatives-hold-impeachment-inquiry-donald-trump-68631\">US House of Representatives to hold impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Post adoption, each TB patient will be entitled to Rs 500 per month for a nutritious diet and the cash amount will be directly transferred to the patient&#8217;s account. &#8220;I will soon adopt a patient from my constituency in Siddhartha Nagar district,&#8221; the Minister said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He also encouraged the bureaucrats to join the \u2018adoption campaign\u2019.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Varanasi&#8217;s TB hospital, several doctors have already adopted patients, according to reports.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Governor Anandiben Patel appealed to all officials to support the initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While adopting TB afflicted children at the Raj Bhawan here, the governor had made it clear that along with ensuring proper medicine and diet;
