After the dastard attack on students and teachers of Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU) by armed miscreants on Sunday evening, the JNU Teachers’ Association(JNUTA) and Students’ Union(JNUSU) have given a call for a Public Meeting Against Violence and in Defense of Public Education.<\/p>\n

Alumni of JNU gave a call, earlier in the day, to march in solidarity with students of JNU. Scores of former students including former Students’ Union President and CPI(M) leaders Prakash Karat and Sitaram Yechury, marched from Ber Sarai to JNU main gate.<\/p>\n

If the Vice-Chancellor thinks that he can silence students, it will not happen. We demand the removal of VC as well as \u00a0identification of those who attacked students and nonetheless complete roll back of fee hike.<\/p>\n
