The pilot in command on the Indigo flight who saw the confrontation between comedian Kunal Kamra and journalist Arnab Goswami, has written to IndiGo management stating that the airline should have consulted him before banning the comedian.<\/p>\n
The captain has said that while Kamra’s behaviour was unsavoury, it was not qualifying of a level 1 unruly passenger.<\/p>\n
\u201cPilots can attest to incidents which were similar and\/or worse in nature that were not deemed unruly,\u201d added the pilot.<\/p>\n
He adds: “Furthermore, I was disheartened to learn that my airline has taken action in this case solely on the basis of social media posts, with no consultation whatsoever with the pilot in command. This is somewhat unprecedented in my nine years of airline flying.”<\/p>\n
The episode took place on January 28, when stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra approached Republic TV Editor Arnab Goswami during the flight on one of Indigo planes.<\/p>\n
In view of the episode, IndiGo suspended the 31-year old comedian from flying with the airlines for a period of six months, Air India, on the other hand, banned him until further notice. SpiceJet and GoAir has also suspended Kamra from flying.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
