Voters in Delhi failed to reach the polling booths as the turnout remained record low throughout the day in the national capital. The estimated voter turnout in the single-phase polling to the 70-member Delhi assembly stands at 54.97% as the polling\u00a0comes to end at 6 pm. The figure is likely to go up as data is still pouring in.<\/p>\n
Voter turnout in Delhi Assembly election was highest in 2015 at 67.12 percent.\u00a0While it was abysmally low in the fourth assembly polls which recorded 57.60% turnout in 2008.<\/p>\n
Amid appeals from political leaders, including\u00a0incumbent Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to vote and one hour for the polls to come to end, the figures couldn’t cross the 60% mark.<\/p>\n
A voter turnout of 11 per cent was recorded till 11 am, according to Election Commission’s Voter Turnout app. The figure slowly jumped to 15.6% by 12 noon. 19.37% voter turnout in Delhi assembly polls till 1 pm. Delhi recorded an estimate 41% turnout by 3:00 pm.<\/p>\n
Till 3:00 pm the turnout was 41.5%, which is 10% less than 2015 record for the corresponding time.<\/p>\n
There are 13,750 polling booths, besides one auxiliary booth, located at 2,689 locations across Delhi. Counting for the all the 70 assembly constituencies will take place on February 11.<\/p>\n
