The Vizag factory was trying to open <strong>post lockdown<\/strong> when the incident occurred. Several people were taken to hospital after they complained of a burning sensation in their eyes and breathing difficulties.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The gas has been neutralised and NDRF team has evacuated the people from the affected villages. It is learnt that the maximum impact of the gas leak was in about\u00a01-1.5\u00a0km. After the tragedy Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy visited\u00a0 the King George Hospital to assess the situation of those affected by the Vizag gas leak.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation has\u00a0 asked people staying near the chemical plant where a gas leak took place in the wee hours to stay indoors. The prime minister had called a meeting of National Disaster Management Authority officials at his residence. The National Human Rights Commission has sent a notice to the Andhra Pradesh government and centre over the deaths.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">South Korean company LG Polymers makes polystyrene and expandable polystyrene, which is located in Gopalapatnam.
