{"id":92392,"date":"2020-09-14T14:36:19","date_gmt":"2020-09-14T09:06:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=92392"},"modified":"2020-09-14T19:42:55","modified_gmt":"2020-09-14T14:12:55","slug":"rahul-gandhi-asks-people-to-protect-themselves-from-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/latest-news\/rahul-gandhi-asks-people-to-protect-themselves-from-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Rahul Gandhi asks people to protect themselves from Covid-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Former\u00a0 Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday asked the people of the country to take care and protect themselves from the growing <a href=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/topic\/covid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Covid-19 <\/a>pandemic that is still growing at an alarming pace across the country since, he said, Prime Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/topic\/narendra-modi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Narendra Modi<\/a> was busy doing other things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gandhi, who is accompanying his mother and Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi on a trip abroad and are missing the monsoon session of Parliament, said the Prime Minister is being busy&nbsp;feeding peacocks in reference to an Instagram post of the PM with peacocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The video, shared with a poem in Hindi, shows PM Modi spending time with peacocks at his Lok Kalyan Marg residence. The coronavirus tally in India crossed the 48 lakh-mark with 92,071 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. As many as 1,136 deaths were reported on Sunday, taking the toll to 79,722.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Congress leader blamed the PM for what he called an unplanned lockdown which, he said, was a gift of one man&#8217;s ego. The lockdowns since March 25 have dealt a very hard blow to the livelihoods of migrants who had to trek across the country to their native states and was even more deathly on the Indian economy.
