With the passing of the 3 farm bills by the Lok Sabha on Thursday, Shiromani Akali Dal chief (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal said the party cannot go back to into the Narendra Modi government and that his wife and SAD’s Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal resignation from the Cabinet was evidence of the party’s seriousness. He said the party’s core committee will meet soon and decide if the SAD should stay in the NDA fold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SAD is one of the founding members of the NDA. Speaking to reporters, Sukhbir Badal said his party is ready to make any sacrifice for farmers and their welfare. On the floor of the Lok Sabha, he said the party will always keep farmers’ benefits as the top priority and will reconsider ties with the BJP now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
