Popular Malayalam actor Aparna Balamurali was recently touched inappropriately by a law student during the promotion of her upcoming film Thankam. The video of the incident is surfacing on the internet and users are slamming the law student for making the actor uncomfortable.

In the viral video, Balamurali can be seen seated on the stage when suddenly a student appears from the audience for a picture with the actor. He gives her a bouquet and put his arms across her shoulders. The actor protested and went back to her seat while the student kept smiling.

The video has divided Twitter. While some are slamming the student in question for making her uncomfortable, others have backed the student saying the actor was harsh on him. Following the backlash on social media, the student was suspended for a week for misbehaving with the National Award-winning actor.

The student union of Ernakulam’s Government Law College released an official apology and expressed sorrow and unhappiness about the incident.

The union also promised to investigate the matter. The statement also read that the union tried to prevent such behaviour and sincerely regrets the difficulty the star faced in connection with the incident.

Aparna Balamurali opened up about the incident and said a law college student not understanding the importance of consent while touching a woman’s body is a serious issue. However, she would not complain about it to the authorities.

The actor predominantly works in Malayalam films. She rose to prominence with her roles in Maheshinte Prathikaaran, Soorarai Pottru, and others. Her role in Soorarai Pottru served her a National Film Award for Best Actress.

She will be next seen in Thankam. Helmed by Saheed Arafath and Prinish Prabhakaran, the film is slated to hit the silver screen on January 26.

Khan was known for playing supporting characters across Hindi cinema and had worked in films spanning several decades. His role as Balu in Welcome remains among his best-known performances.

Mushtaq Khan’s film career

Mushtaq Khan appeared in a wide range of films during his career. His filmography included Aashiqui, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Gopi Kishan, Krantiveer, Raja, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Jodi No. 1 and Hera Pheri.

He also featured in more recent films including Stree 2, Gadar 2, Baby John, Dhoom Dhaam and Jaat. His filmography lists acting work continuing into 2026.

In Welcome, Khan played Balu, a supporting character in the comedy starring Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor and other prominent actors.

The actor’s death was reported on September 24, 2026. Reports said Khan had been undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with liver cancer and had been hospitalised for around 15 days. Further details surrounding his death were awaited in the initial reports.
