West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee slammed BJP on Monday for making attempts to defame West Bengal and arrest leaders of Trinamool Congress. The TMC leader said the agencies claim that the BJP has instructed them to arrest Trinamool leaders. She said the BJP has forcefully sent the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI.

Speaking to the media, Banerjee said if the BJP wants to win then they have to move forward by earning the trust of the people. She said the people of Bengal want free and fair elections and not BJP elections. The Chief Minister said Bengal is a place where impartial elections are possible.

She said she wanted to tell those people who say big things about Bengal that they should go to Uttar Pradesh. She said in the last two days, two minors had been tied up and murdered. She recounted the incidents that had happened in Bilqis’s home and in Hathras. She said Bengal is much better than that.

Banerjee said BJP’s manipulative words and attempts to incite violence have dishonoured the women of Bengal. She said the mothers and sisters of Bengal are not happy with this. In Kolkata, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today inaugurate the Howrah Maidan Esplanade section of Kolkata Metro’s East-West corridor.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Kavi Subhash – Hemlata Mukhopadhyay section of the New Garia – Airport Metro and Taratala – Majerhat Metro section of the Joka – Esplanade Metro. Meanwhile, women from Sandeshkhali left to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Barasat, in North Parganas district.

But there is no official confirmation on whether the Prime Minister would meet the women. The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday directed the CBI be handed over the case of the attack on ED officials at Sandeshkhali and the custody of suspended TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan.
