Rahul Gandhi at a public rally in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol

Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the ruling BJP government as he addressed a public rally in election-bound Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol. The senior Congress leader called Madhya Pradesh a laboratory of the BJP, where multiple scams took place.

Speaking at the rally, the former Congress President mentioned that Lal Krishna Advani wrote a book in which he stated that the original laboratory of the BJP-RSS is not in Gujarat, but in Madhya Pradesh. He continued that in BJP’s laboratory, the deceased are being treated and their money is being stolen.

He further claimed that the future of 1 crore youth is being ruined in Vyapam and 40 people were killed. He added that MBBS seats are sold in the state and RS 15 lakh has to be given to become a registrar. Continuing his attack on the ruling government, the Congress leader underlined that in this laboratory, 18,000 farmers have died by suicide in 18 years.

Rahul Gandhi further underscored that in Madhya Pradesh a man was murdered in front of police while he was trying to save his sister who was raped in Bhopal. He added that in the state a BJP leader urinated on Adivasi. He further mentioned about theft in Mahakaal Lok and in Children’s mid-day meal scheme.

Pitching on caste census, Rahul Gandhi remarked that they will force the Centre to conduct a caste census as it is an X-ray to know about the truth about OBCs, Dalits and Tribals. He explained what should be the share for OBC and SC communities is the question before the country and that is why they have called for a caste census.

Stating that the Congress does not make empty promises, Rahul Gandhi noted that they have brought PESA law and forest rights law. He explained that they made a law where if any industrialist wants tribal land, then he will have to ask for the land with folded hands in front of the Gram Sabha. However, the BJP repealed the PESA law and snatched land by intimidation and violence, he added. Rahul Gandhi further promised that his party will return the rights of the people of Madhya Pradesh.
