The Indian cricket team is currently in New Zealand to play their bilateral T20I and ODI series. Team India was supposed to play their first fixture against New Zealand on Friday. However, due to the weather conditions not allowing the two teams to battle it out, the first fixture was abandoned without even a ball bowled.

The forecast for the second fixture will again be an upset for the cricket fans as the match, which is supposed to be held on Sunday, will probably see the same weather trend as the forecast shows chances of thunderstorms or a washout during the second IND vs NZ second T20I.

In the absence of the senior players namely, Virat Kohli, Skipper Rohit Sharma, wicket keeper Dinesh Kartik, and pacer Mohamad Shami; several young players like Umraan Malik, Mohmmad Siraj and Washington Sundar, Ishan Kishan and Shubhman Gill have a golden chance to stake their claim for the T20I format team if they deliver for the team in the bilateral series.
