After their victory over New Zealand in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Sunday, the Indian cricket team is making most of their break. The next match is going to take place against England on October 29. During their break the players and the support staff have been enjoying various activities in the mountains which includes adventure treks and ice cold river baths.

KL Rahul the Indian batsman shared some pictures from one of their trips which features batting coach Vikram Rathore and head coach Rahul Dravid taking a refreshing dip in a river. The last world cup match was played in Dharamsala which is one of the most beautiful venues globally. It seems  some of the players and the staff have chosen to stay nearby.

KL Rahul shared pictures on social media which said nothing beats nature’s ice dip. It seems head coach Rahul Dravid fully embraced the adventure.  Dravid had gone on a trekking expedition with some of India’s support staff to Triund, a location near Dharamshala. In a video shared on X(formerly twitter) Dravid shared his thoughts saying the view was superb in triund. He said it was a challenging trek nevertheless. He said he could not bring the Indian team up there as they were focusing on winning the cricket world cup and hence the trip can prove to be risky for them.

India’s batting coach Vikram Rathore said the last part of the trek was hard but when they reached the top and saw the view then it was worth it. The Indian players are taking a rest before they head to Lucknow for their match against the defending champions England  on Sunday, October 29. India remain unbeaten in the tournament at the top ,position at the points table. But India’s star all rounder Hardik Pandya will be unavailable for the next two matches

Abhishek Sharma creates history with fastest century by an Indian batsman in T20Is, takes India to mammoth total of 234 against Zimbabwe

Abhishek Sharma’s outstanding century in his 2nd T20 international match not only made him the highest scorer for India against Zimbabwe in T20Is but also set a new record for the fastest century by an Indian batsman in this format which was achieved in just 2 innings.

Sharma took just 2 innings to hit a century for India in T20Is and crossed Deepak Hooda (3 innings) and KL Rahul (4 innings) as the fastest to achieve this milestone. He reached his century with 3 consecutive sixes, scoring his first 50 runs in 33 balls and his next 50 in just 13 deliveries.

With this knock, Abhishek Sharma at 23 years and 307 days, has joined an elite list of young Indian cricketers to score a century in T20 Internationals, following closely behind Suresh Raina (23 years and 156 days), Shubman Gill (23 years and 146 days), and Yashasvi Jaiswal (21 years and 279 days).

Abhishek Sharma’s innings in Harare 2024 also marks the 4th fastest century for India in T20 Internationals. He joins the ranks of KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, and Rohit Sharma. India won the toss and elected to bat first but the opening partnership could not grow long, with Shubman Gill was sent back to the pavillion early in his innings to Blessing Muzarabani. But Abhishek Sharma along with Rutuiraj Gaikwad took the innings forawrd with his aggressive batting and calculated strokeplay.

Abhishek’s intent was evident from the outset as he hit Brian Bennet for a 6 and continued to attack the Zimbabwe bowling attack. Despite some early pressure from Zimbabwe’s bowlers he maintained his composure and found boundaries with precision.
