A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed by Punjab Police against a YouTube channel for allegedly linking Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha to wanted man Vijay Mallya.

The AAP candidate for the Ludhiana Lok Sabha constituency, Ashok Pappi Prashar’s son, Vikas Prashar, filed a formal complaint against the YouTube station Capital TV. The complainant held the channel accountable for airing misleading and defamatory content.

The statements/contents of false videos on Capital TV channel and others shall harm the public peace and harmony…and is likely to promote enmity between different groups in the country on grounds of religion, caste, race and community, the complaint said.

In his complaint, Vikas allegedly claimed that the YouTube channel was disseminating misleading information and that it was defaming Raghav Chadha by equating him with Mallya.

Vijay Mallya fled to the UK after taking public money, and similarly, a Rajya Sabha member left for England, claiming it was for eye treatment, according to the FIR, which noted claims made by the YouTube channel.

The AAP leader will reportedly get a vitrectomy in the UK to save the retina from detaching from the eye earlier. According to the research, this disorder, which is characterized by the formation of tiny holes in the retina, is very dangerous for vision and must be treated immediately to prevent irreversible damage.

The channel referred to Chadha as a Khalistani supporter following his encounter with UK MP Preet Gill, according to the complaint.

Section 153A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) deals with inciting religious hatred among various groups, Section 469 deals with forgeries, and Section 505 deals with making statements that could incite public disturbances.

The FIR also contains Section 66 of the Information Technology Act, which addresses offenses involving computers.

Due to several violations of community guidelines, YouTube has deleted Pornhub from its channel list.

Pornhub, according to The Variety, violated YouTube’s external policy link, which forbids users from sharing material that is not permitted on YouTube, such as nudity and pornography.

YouTube representative Jack Malon said that following an investigation, the channel Pornhub Official was deleted due to repeated violations of Community Guidelines. He adds that YouTube policies were equally for everyone and that channels that consistently infringe or are dedicated to violative content are removed.

On the other hand, a Pornhub spokesperson said that Pornhub takes great care to guarantee that it does not contravene any of YouTube’s Community Guidelines and upholds the best trust and safety standards on the internet. He also said that this is regrettably only the most recent instance of prejudice against those working in the adult sector. This is a trend that has been observed on social media and in many facets of life.

Earlier, Instagram was accused of discriminating behaviour by Pornhub, saying that Porbhub wants an explanation and direction as to why their accounts were routinely deleted, and why content we spend money developing in order to engage with their audience was erased, even when it does not infringe any of Instagram’s regulations, Pornhub wrote in an open letter to the website. The irresponsible and discriminatory actions of Instagram are detrimental to the careers of independent creators.

The platform is an essential marketing tool for individuals in the adult sector, despite its negligent treatment of an already marginalised demographic. It is violent and extremely harmful to prevent us from promoting our brands and expanding our businesses while consistently deleting, silencing, and restricting the presence of sex workers and adult brands. YouTube India on Wednesday finally update its partner program policies, under which it has allowed creators to earn money after monetizing their channel through Shorts videos only. The platform has confirmed the news through a blog post, where it said that creators who make Shorts videos now are eligible to apply for the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) if they have 1,000 subscribers, 4,000 watch times in the past 364 days on their Shorts videos or have delivered views around 10 million views over past 90 days.

The recent development comes at a time when new or small creators are struggling to get some recognition from the platform for their content. YouTube India’s vice president of Amjad Hanif said that a new level of YPP has been introduced in the country under which the new creator can achieve good heights as the YT offering the earlier access to content creators to use Fan Funding features like Super Thanks, Super Chat, Super Stickers, and Channel Memberships.

Hanif further informed that in order to give a certain credit and revenue to the eligible creators, YouTube soon includes ads on shorts videos, which will run in between videos on its Shorts feed. The overall ad revenue from the videos on Shorts supper soon will be added at the end of this month, YouTube’s vice president added.

YouTube will provide creators with a total of 45 percent of ad revenue out of the total. The other 55 percent of will be taken by the platform itself in order to pay its licensing and music fees.  

Apart from YouTube, the Meta-owned social media platform, Instagram also made some changes in its partner policy, where it has allowed creators to monetize their work and earn revenue from it.

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry on Saturday ordered the suspension of a controversial deodorant advertisement and asked Twitter, and YouTube to stop streaming of an ad called Shot by brand Layer’r.

People familiar with the matter have said that action is being taken for the suspension of the distasteful advertisement.

The controversial advertisement has been called out on social media for promoting rape culture. The ad violates the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules of 2021. The ad is detrimental to the portrayal of women in the interest of decency or morality.

Following the controversy, Tweeple accused the brand of trivialising an issue millions of women in the country have to live with every day. While many accused them of promoting rape culture.

An inquiry is being held by the concerned regulatory body.

Swati Malilwal, the chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, said that the deodorant ad blatantly promotes the rape mentality in the country. The commission have issued notice to Delhi Police that FIR must be registered & ad must be immediately taken down from all platforms, the DCW chief said.

A Chinese man has developed a gigantic 27,000,000mAh power bank. His name is Handy Geng and he is a Chinese electronics expert and influencer.In January, Handy Geng uploaded a video on YouTube where he was explaining the procedure of making the power bank.

Geng also included a witty caption in which he wrote that everyone else appears to have a larger power bank than he does. He added, which does not fit well with me. As a result, he created a portable rechargeable power bank with a capacity of 27,000,000mAh.

According to a report by MySmartPrice, Geng thinks that his chargeable power bank can charge approximately 5,000 mobile phones with 3,000mAh batteries. The inventor appears to have utilised a giant battery pack similar to those seen in electric automobiles.

YouTube has announced that it will hide dislike numbers on all videos in order to avoid “dislike attacks” against digital producers. The dislike button will no longer be displayed to visitors starting Thursday (November 11). However, you will still be able to dislike a video because the dislike button will not be removed, and you may use it to fine-tune the suggestions.

Creators, on the other hand, may see the dislike counts in YouTube Studio. If creators want to understand how their work is performing, they may still access their specific dislike numbers in YouTube Studio, along with other existing information.

“We are making the dislike counts private throughout YouTube, but the dislike button is not going away,” the online video sharing company claimed in a statement.

YouTube claims that hiding the dislike count is part of its effort to “create an inclusive and friendly atmosphere where creators have the opportunities to excel and feel safe to express themselves,” and that it is just one of many steps the platform is taking to safeguard creators, particularly smaller ones, from harassment.

While that’s a valid reason, one might argue that dislike counts on a video are valuable in determining whether or not the video is worth viewing. YouTube, on the other hand, claims that their research found no apparent change in viewing whether or not consumers could see the dislike counts.

YouTube has also started rolling out a redesigned “New to you” option on its platform, allowing viewers to explore content that isn’t part of the viewers’ standard recommendations.

Hospitality firm Oyo on Wednesday rolled out a slew of initiatives for its employees to alleviate their stress levels amid the coronavirus pandemic. The startup has announced four-day working in a week and flexible infinite paid leaves.

Ritesh Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer of OYO Rooms, wrote about the company’s new initiatives on Twitter, “Starting today we are moving to a 4 day work week but implementing it slightly differently, making Wednesdays off to let OYO preneurs have a mid-week breather”. He also said that Oyo will be launching, “No Questions Asked Flexible Infinite Paid Leaves”.

Google Pay users in the US will now be able to send money to users in India and Singapore, the company announced on Tuesday. Google has partnered with Western Union and Wise to enable the new service via the Google Pay app.

“By the end of the year, we expect that US Google Pay users will be able to send money to people in more than 200 countries and territories through Western Union and to more than 80 countries through Wise,” the company said in a blogpost.

YouTube has announced it will launch a $100 million fund to pay content creators whose videos receive the most engagement from viewers on its new short-form video feature, named Shorts. The fund would be launched in the coming months and thousands of creators would be paid this year and in 2022, YouTube said.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday announced Delhi government is starting an oxygen concentrator bank (OCB) service, which will help those Covid patients who are dying due to lack of oxygen. Addressing a virtual press conference, Delhi CM said his government has created OCB’s in every district in Delhi, with the availability of 200 oxygen concentrators. He said any Covid patients who are home isolated and need oxygen, Delhi government will send oxygen concentrator directly at the doorstep within 2 hours, along with a person with knowledge of machine so that he can teach proper use of a machine to family, Kejriwal said.
