man delivering food on horse

Swiggy, the food delivery app, is offering Rs 5,000 reward for the first person to identify the delivery man who was seen riding a horse to deliver food amidst the heavy rain in Mumbai.

The reward announcement comes days after a video of one of their apparent executives riding a horse to deliver orders during heavy rain in Mumbai went viral on social media.

A video of a delivery man carrying a Swiggy delivery bag had gone viral last week.

After the video went viral, Swiggy released a statement to address the horse in the room as the company has failed to identify the person as the video was recorded from behind and inside a car.

Come forward. Do your share as a good citizen of India. Because the nation wants to know more about the Swiggyman on the horse. And so do we, Swiggy wrote in its twitter post.

The post has accumulated more than 17,000 likes and the numbers are increasing even after 15 hours of the post.

Since the video was posted, it has been receiving tons of comments and reactions and Swiggy has now joined the Tweeple with a witty post.

The share has also prompted people to post memes and asking for the bounty reward. I think you are looking for him, said one user posting an image of Hatim, a Hindi fantasy drama TV series that aired almost two decades ago.

After failed attempts to identify the man in the video, Swiggy has decided to offer Rs 5,000 as a bonus for the first person who can provide some useful information about the company’s accidental brand ambassadors, so that the company could thank them.

It is indeed ironic that a food delivery giant that earns thousands of rupees per minute is giving such a puny reward of Rs 5000 for tracing the horseman. The people of Mumbai are facing flood-like conditions due to heavy rains over the last week. And they will step out with gaping manholes and in waist-deep water for 5k? Really, Swiggy?

Telangana: Former Chief Minister KCR hospitalised following a fall; suspected hip and back injury

According to local reports, the former chief minister will undergo some tests today. KCR is in stable health as of right now.

Former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), fell at home and was taken to the hospital in Hyderabad this morning at around 2 a.m.

The 69-year-old may need surgery since doctors believe he may have injured his hip following the fall. At around two in the morning on Friday, he was taken to the Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad. Since losing the state assembly elections three days ago, the former chief minister has been hosting meetings at his house.

According to local reports, the former chief minister will undergo some tests today. KCR is in stable health as of right now.

BRS MLC K Kavitha posted on X with an update on KCR’s condition, stating that he is receiving professional medical care at the hospital right now.

Meanwhile, KCR held the position of Chief Minister of Telangana from 2014 till 2023, following his party Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS)’s loss by the Congress in the recently held Assembly Elections.

In the Telangana election, KCR stood for two seats; he won the Gajwel seat but lost to Kamareddy. He was beaten from the Kamareddy seat by Katipally Venkata Ramana Reddy of the BJP, who also defeated KCR and Revanth Reddy.

Revanth Reddy, a member of the Congress, and eleven other ministers were sworn in as Telangana’s chief minister yesterday.

In the 119-member Telangana assembly, the Congress secured 64 seats, while the BRS managed to secure just 39. This was the first loss for BRS since Telangana was created in 2014.

During the lengthy poll campaign, the party attempted to draw attention to all of its programmes for the underprivileged. Nevertheless, the execution of certain programmes had granted MLAs an excessive degree of authority to determine how to allocate monies, giving rise to accusations of both corruption and prejudice.

Despite KCR’s warnings to these MLAs to get a grip and step up their game, all of them received election tickets. As a result, the Congress was awarded the majority of these seats.

Telangana: Revanth Reddy takes oath as Chief Minister, Bhatti Vikramarka as Deputy

In the most recent Assembly elections, the Congress defeated the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) and took 64 of the 119 seats.

On Thursday, Anumula Revanth Reddy became the first Congress chief minister of Telangana, the state with the shortest lifespan in India, when she took the oath of office. Hyderabad’s LB Stadium hosted the new government’s swearing-in event.

In addition, Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu was sworn in as the state’s deputy chief minister once it was established in 2014.

The chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party Sonia Gandhi, and Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge attended the swearing-in ceremony. Congress Party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, and Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, also participated in the event.

In the most recent Assembly elections, the Congress defeated the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) and took 64 of the 119 seats.

38 seats were won by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), which governed the newest state in India for ten years. AIMIM received seven seats while the BJP secured eight.

Meanwhile, three days after the elections had been announced, Revanth Reddy took the oath. The Congress questioned why no one was raising concerns about the BJP’s tardiness in naming chief ministers for the three states it had won—Rishikesh, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh.

The Congress party was under fire in the media less than a day after the election results were announced on December 3rd for allegedly having delayed in selecting a chief minister for Telangana. Our CM, who was announced the day before, will take over at 1:00 PM today.

However, three days have passed and the BJP is still unable to even name their chief ministers for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. Why doesn’t the BJP face consequences for the apparent delay? Jairam Ramesh, general secretary of the Congress, said.

The daunting task before the new chief minister is to carry out the six party pledges, one of which is to provide free transit for women on Telangana State Road Transport Corporation buses, just like in Karnataka.

Odisha: Fire breaks out in Jan Shatabdi Express at Cuttack station, no injuries reported

According to East Coast Railway officials, the fire under one of the train’s coaches started because of brake-binding, or the brake not being released from the wheels.

The brakes on the Jan Shatabdi Express, which was headed for Howrah, failed to release from one of the wheels on Thursday morning, causing a fire to ignite at the Cuttack station, according to railway officials. Nobody was harmed.

Around 6.30 am, the fire was discovered under a carriage while the train was travelling from Bhubaneswar to Howrah. The fire was quickly contained once emergency personnel were called into action.

According to East Coast Railway officials, the fire under one of the train’s coaches started because of brake-binding, or the brake not being released from the wheels. The fire was quickly put out by firefighters and RPF members as soon as they saw it. About 7.15 am, the train left Cuttack after releasing the brake on the wheel. An East Coast Railway spokesman said, no one was hurt.

A train passenger said, as a precaution, every single one of them was removed from the train. He said, it took them about 30 minutes to completely put out the fire.

Meanwhile, the biggest train accident in the Indian Railway history took place this in June in Odisha. Three trains crashed in the Balasore district, Odisha, on June 2, 2023. Near the Bahanaga Bazar railway station, the Coromandel Express entered the passing loop at full speed rather than the main line and collided with a goods train. The Coromandel Express was travelling at a high pace when it derailed, and three of its coaches ended up crashing into the approaching SMVT Bengaluru–Howrah Superfast Express on the nearby track.

In the accident, 296 people lost their lives, and over 1,200 more were injured. The Gaisal train crash in 1999 may have claimed more lives than the Firozabad rail collision in 1995, but it was India’s deadliest railway accident since then. Additionally, it was the deadliest rail accident globally since the tsunami train collapse in Sri Lanka in 2004.
