Winning Prediction: Which Team Will Bring the IPL 2022 Cup Back Home this Year?

After doing thorough research, proper evaluation, and in-depth analysis on factors like IPL head-to-head stats, team chemistry, and squad chemistry, it can be said that two teams have the highest possibility of winning the cup this year. These teams are none other than the newcomers: Lucknow Super Kings (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT).

In the following section, get insight into these teams in detail and understand why they have the highest chances of winning the title this year.

1. Probability of Gujarat Titans To Win IPL 2022

Gujarat Titans are currently ranking on the top of the scoreboard with an indestructible squad in IPL 2022. They have been showing some best-in-class consistency in performance. Despite having a low budget to bid players on the IPL auction, they created a powerful squad with an intelligent strategy. They have won four out of their last five matches and are all set to win the next one.

Differential Players of Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022:

  • Hardik Pandya
  • Shubman Gill
  • David Miller
  • Lockie Ferguson
  • Rahul Tewatia
  • Md Shami

These are the key players of this team, and everyone holds special skills and dedication to let Gujarat taste the sweetness of victory. Their capabilities to deliver and take match-winning knocks and wickets are something worthwhile.

However, the team became more substantial with the addition of proficient players like Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan. Their powerful squad, consistent quality performance, and passion for winning every match-make them worthy of the cup.

2. Probability of Lucknow Super Giants To Win IPL 2022

Like other IPL teams, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) also had a 90-crore budget for the IPL Auction 2022. To keep things simple, let’s just say that they got the full and best use of their budget.

LSG stepped foot into this prestigious tournament for the first time with one of the most fierce squads after GT. It’s safe to say that they have the most balanced squad this season. Whether it’s batting or bowling, their lineup is almost indestructible.

Differential Players of Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022:

  • Quinton De Cock
  • K Pandya
  • KL Rahul
  • Ayush Badoni
  • Deepak Hooda
  • D Chameera

Their bowling lineup has some of the most talented and popular names like Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, D Chameera, and M Stoinis. Meanwhile, the batting lineup has some of the expert personalities of the cricket world, like Quinton De Cock, KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, and Deepak Hooda. The young talent Ayush has been the most impressive player on this team.

Final Prediction: Which Team Will Win?

Although both Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans are newcomers, they have made some impactful and electrifying debuts into this renowned cricket league. Their lack of experience in this T20 format cannot wear away the fact that they have the two most amazing squads ranking on top of the leaderboard.

Despite being equally powerful and potential enough to win the cup, Gujarat Titans have the slight edge over here. All the winning stats, squad condition, player performance, and current ranking indicate that Gujarat Titans may bring the IPL cup back home this year. However, KL Rahul’s LSG and Rajasthan Royals stand out to be Gujarat’s most brutal and strongest contenders.

Board of Control for Cricket in India announced in a statement on Tuesday, April 30, that Rohit Sharma as captain of a 15-man T20 World Cup will lead the squad and Hardik Pandya will serve as vice captain. Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal were rewarded for their outstanding IPL performances as they are included in the list while Rinku Singh and KL Rahul were two of the greatest misses.

As was to be expected, Virat Kohli and rookie opener Yashasvi Jaiswal were included in the 15-man roster. Batsman and wicketkeeper in the IPL Rishabh Pant, was selected for the T20I team following his valiant comeback to competitive play. Pant was not a consistent member of the T20 Indian Premier League (IPL) before his vehicle accident in December 2022. Nonetheless, he put on an incredible display with the bat and the gloves, scoring 398 runs in 11 games.

Sanju Samson was awarded for his outstanding performance in the IPL 2024, despite missing out on the ODI World Cup squad the last year. Although KL Rahul was also a contender, the skipper of Rajasthan was chosen.

As MI captain, Hardik Pandya has had a difficult time in the 2024 IPL, but he has been backed to be Rohit Sharma’s deputy. When Rohit Sharma was resting from T20Is to concentrate on the lead-up to the ODI World Cup last year, Hardik led India in 16 games. Additionally, seam-bowling all-rounder Shivam Dube, who has been belting sixes for CSK in the IPl 2024, has been selected by India.

The BCCI also announced that skipper Rohit Sharma and top selector Ajit Agarkar will address the media on Thursday, May 2, at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai.

On June 5, India will play their first match of the T20 World Cup 2024 against Ireland. After that, on June 9, they will play their group-stage matches against USA and Canada on June 12 and 15, as well as their bitter rivals, Pakistan.
