Munawar Faruqui has again found himself in a wrangle as Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has demanded the police to call off his show which is scheduled to be held on 28th August in Delhi’s Kedarnath Sahni Auditorium. In their letter, the VHP stated that if the police fail to take cognizance of the matter, they will resort to protest along with Bajrang Dal.

The Delhi Police, however, have stated that they haven’t received any complaint in this regard and hence, they haven’t taken any actions as of yet. Reportedly, Munawar Faruqui’s team hasn’t been made aware of the notice by VHP either.

In the letter sent by Surendra Kumar Gupta, VHP Delhi President claimed that comedian Munawar Faruqui mocks Hindu gods in his show and also held the comedian responsible for the recent Bhagyanar clashes in Hyderabad.

In an interview with The Indian Express, Vinod Bansal, VHP Spokesperson, echoed the sentiments shared in the letter and also predicted that because of his shows, communal tensions will flare up in Delhi. While adding that they don’t want such type of chaos happening in Delhi. The VHP has submitted the letter to Delhi Police HQ and has also sent an email to the Delhi Police Commissioner, Sanjay Arora.
