Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched a scathing attack on Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot over the infighting of Congress in the state. He slammed the state government over multiple issues, including crime against women. He claimed that the Congress government in the state has left no stone unturned to loot Rajasthan. 

Addressing a public rally in Chittorgarh in poll-bound Rajasthan, PM Narendra Modi stated that the state has decided to save themselves by bringing back the BJP government. He asserted that the Congress formed the government by misleading people but could not run it, adding that CM Gehlot was busy saving his chair, whereas half of the Congress leaders were actively trying to unseat him. 

The Prime Minister further claimed that CM Ashok Gehlot has accepted defeat and is requesting BJP to not stop schemes. He assured that on coming to power in Rajasthan, BJP will not stop any public scheme but will try to improve it. He also accused the Ashok Gehlot led Congress government of destroying the state in the last five years by not taking adequate steps to combat crime against women. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed that it pains him that the state tops in the crime list. He continued that he is pained when atrocities take place against daughters anywhere in the country but Congress has made this a tradition in Rajasthan. He added that the message of people of Rajasthan has reached Congress leaders and that the Chief Minister is also aware that the countdown of Congress government’s farewell has begun. 

Speaking on the alleged paper leak issue, PM Modi asserted that the paper leak mafia will be held accountable and will be given harshest punishment. He noted that they will go to the bottom of the paper leak matter and actions will be taken against those who have committed corruption and looted money of the poor.

While addressing the gathering in the poll bound Rajasthan, PM Modi underlined that they are witnessing how leaders of Congress alliance are issuing derogatory remarks about women. He claimed that the alliance is very angry with the Women’s Reservation Act and that they don’t want women to get their rights.

He remarked that there is only one face in elections and that is (Kamal) lotus. The 2023 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election is scheduled to be held in or before November.

Akhilesh Yadav responds to Samajwadi Party’s strong performance in Uttar Pradesh

The INDIA alliance, under the leadership of the Samajwadi Party, achieved remarkable success in Uttar Pradesh, winning 43 out of 80 seats. Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav shared his first response after the election results were announced.

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav celebrated the success of the INDIA bloc in Uttar Pradesh as a significant win for the state’s marginalized communities, including the backward classes, Dalits, and minorities. He attributed this victory to the effective implementation of the PDA (Pichada, Dalit, and Alpasankhyak) strategy and the united efforts of the opposition alliance.

Taking social media X, Akhilesh Yadav expressed gratitude to the voters of Uttar Pradesh, highlighting that the success of the INDIA bloc in the state signifies the triumph of the Dalit-Bahujan trust. He emphasized that various marginalized groups, including the backward classes, minorities, tribals, and women, alongside those neglected and oppressed among the upper castes, united to safeguard the Constitution. This collective effort aimed to uphold principles of equality, respect, self-respect, dignified life, and reservation.

Akhilesh Yadav further said that the win showed the power of unity among different groups like the backward, Dalit, minority, and tribal communities, as well as women and marginalized people from upper castes. He thanked everyone who supported the alliance, making it stronger. Yadav also praised those who stood up for the Constitution and promoted inclusive politics, saying their efforts were crucial for the victory.

The outcomes of2024 Lok Sabha elections witnessed surprising losses as well significant wins. The INDIA bloc’s remarkable performance in Uttar Pradesh led to the acquisition of 43 out of the 80 Lok Sabha seats, with the Samajwadi Party securing 37 seats independently and the Congress claiming 6. This result delivered a significant blow to the ruling BJP-led NDA, which only managed to secure 33 seats, supported by its allies, including Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) with two seats and Apna Dal (Sonelal) with one.

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi retained his Varanasi seat, other prominent figures experienced setbacks. BJP’s Smriti Irani lost to INC’s Kishori Lal in Amethi. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Anupriya Patel, and Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary secured wins in Lucknow, Mirzapur, and Maharajganj, respectively. However, Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni and BJP leader Maneka Gandhi faced losses in Lakhimpur Kheri and Sultanpur.

The Congress celebrated significant wins, with Rahul Gandhi victorious in Raebareli and Kishori Lal Sharma triumphing in Amethi, defeating BJP’s Smriti Irani by a considerable margin. Akhilesh Yadav secured victory in Kannauj, and his wife Dimple Yadav won in Mainpuri.

With the NDA set to secure 291 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, PM Narendra Modi said the victory is for the spirit of Viksit Bharat and noted the party did better than the entire Opposition together.

Addressing party workers at the headquarters in Delhi on Tuesday evening, the Prime Minister noted that this is for the second time since 1962 that any government has been elected for the third consecutive time. Not dwelling on the shocks the party got in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and West Bengal, PM Modi stressed on the successes of the day: Odisha. Raising the slogan Jai Jagannath, he said the party will form its government in the state for the first time. Similarly, he recalled the sacrifices by party workers ion Kerala for successive generations leading to its first victory in that state in Thrissur for actor Suresh Gopi.

He noted the Congress may have lost a lot of deposits in the assembly elections held this time. He added that the NDA win is the victory of the biggest democracy in the world. He expressed gratitude to all candidates and voters for participating in the largest festival of democracy amid the heatwave.

In this regard, he congratulated the Election Commission of India for conducting the world’s largest election with such efficiency. Modi noted the win is the victory of unwavering loyalty to the Constitution of India, it is the victory of the pledge of a developed India, it is the victory of the mantra of Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, it is the victory of 140 crore Indians.

He listed several of his government’s feats in welfare and its handling of the economy to make it the world’s third largest economy.

Earlier, BJP national president JP Nadda thanked workers and supporters of the party for placing their faith in the ruling alliance for the third consecutive term. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always led the country, the party and the people of the nation from the front. He said that NDA has become the first coalition in India’s political history to form government at the Centre for three consecutive terms.
