Bollywood actor Esha Deol and businessman Bharat Takhtani today officially announced their separation after being married for 12 years.

In 2012, the couple tied the knot in a private and traditional ceremony at Mumbai’s ISKCON temple. The two have now announced their separation and stated that their children’s welfare and best interests would always be of the utmost concern in a joint statement.

Recently, a Reddit thread about the separation of Esha and Bharat went viral on social media. The post was driven by the way Esha had been spotted appearing in public without Bharat for the past few weeks.

The two released a statement on Wednesday announcing their split, saying, they have mutually and amicably decided to part ways. The well-being and best interests of their two children are and will always be their top priorities while they go through this transition in their lives. The couple also requested for the privacy at this time.

Rumours about their split have been circulating since Esha removed all of Takhtani’s images from her Instagram account. Also Bharat was missing from her birthday celebrations the previous year, which fueled more concerns about their seperation.

During an interview Esha once talked about her relationship and revealed that how she met Bharat. The actor said she first met Bharat at the school’s inter-school Cascade competition. She said that she gave him a piece of tissue with her phone number written on it.

Recalling her early days, the actor continued saying that in her mother’s room, they had a single phone and no extension. Talking used to be really challenging back then. It was innocence and infatuation at that age, she said.

In the same interview Deol also how she managed to be in touch with Bharat as communicating with each other tough. The actor said, she kept in touch during their time in college, and at the age of 18, she began working. It faded out, but she was glad after being together, the Dhoom actor said.

Meanwhile, Esha and Bharat are blessed with two daughters, Radhya and Miraya. Radhya was born in 2017, while Miraya was born in 2019.

Mushtaq Khan’s film career

Mushtaq Khan appeared in a wide range of films during his career. His filmography included Aashiqui, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Gopi Kishan, Krantiveer, Raja, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Jodi No. 1 and Hera Pheri.

He also featured in more recent films including Stree 2, Gadar 2, Baby John, Dhoom Dhaam and Jaat. His filmography lists acting work continuing into 2026.

In Welcome, Khan played Balu, a supporting character in the comedy starring Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor and other prominent actors.

Mushtaq Khan dies at 56

The actor’s death was reported on September 24, 2026. Reports said Khan had been undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with liver cancer and had been hospitalised for around 15 days. Further details surrounding his death were awaited in the initial reports.
