Bollywood actor Vidya Balan had filed an FIR against the Instagram account user with Mumbai Police for creating a fake Instagram account in her name and extorting money from people.
The Mumbai police have said that an unidentified individual created a fake Instagram account and promised people jobs in exchange for money. The Khar Police has registered an FIR under Section 66 (C) of the IT Act.
Vidya Balan, who has a large following online and regularly creates videos and reels loved by her fans, is facing a serious problem. Someone has been misusing her name and asking people for money.
According to a police officer, an individual created a fake Instagram account and Gmail address using the name of Bollywood actor Balan. The perpetrator then proceeded to contact various people associated with the industry, promising them job opportunities in exchange for money.
Upon learning of this fraudulent activity, Balan lodged a complaint with the Mumbai Police. Khar Police subsequently registered an FIR against the unknown suspect under Section 66 (C) of the IT Act, and an investigation into the matter has begun.
It’s worth noting that Balan had previously alerted her Instagram followers to the existence of a fake account being run in her name.
Vidya Balan is all set to make a comeback to the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise. The talented actor has been known for her role as Manjulika in the 2007 psychological horror-comedy film Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Recently, Kartik Aaryan, who starred in the second instalment and will also play a lead role in the upcoming third instalment, welcomed Vidya on board.
Kartik also dropped an edited video showing Balan’s iconic visuals as Manjulika from the first instalment combined with visuals of Kartik from the second part.
Anees Bazmee, who directed the second part, will direct the third part as well. The first part featuring Akshay Kumar alongside Balan, was helmed by Priyadarshan. In the second part, Kartik shared screen space with Tabu and Kiara Advani.
