Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Saturday extended their wishes to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on his 49th birthday.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Best wishes to Jharkhand CM Shri Hemant Soren Ji on his birthday. Praying for his long life and wonderful health.”
Similarly, Congress leader Gandhi said, “Hearty congratulations and best wishes to Jharkhand Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren on his birthday.” INDIA will fight strongly and win together in the battle for the rights of the poor, the deprived, and the tribals of the country, and against every injustice done to them, the Raebareli MP said in a post on X.
Meanwhile, the Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also extended his birthday wishes to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Soren and said: “Hearty birthday wishes and congratulations to the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Hemant Soren. We wish him a long life and good health. INDIA is fighting together for social justice, economic empowerment, and inclusive development in the country.”
The Jharkhand Chief Minister Soren, on his 49th birthday, said the memory of the past one year has etched in his mind – that is the prisoner’s mark – which was put on him when he was released from jail. He further said that this mark is not only a symbol of him but also of the current challenges of Indian democracy.
Soren added when an elected Chief Minister can be put in jail for 150 days without any proof, without any complaint, without any crime, then what will they do with the common tribals/Dalits/exploited people, he wondered. The Jharkhand CM said, “I don’t need to say this. Therefore, today I am even more determined and strengthen my resolve to fight for the rights of every oppressed, deprived, Dalit, backward, tribal, indigenous person.”
He said he would raise his voice for every person/community that has been suppressed, that has been denied justice, that is being persecuted on the basis of its colour, community, food habits, and clothing. Soren called for unity and to build a society where the law is equal for all, where there is no misuse of power.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha head said, “Yes, this path will not be easy. We will have to face many challenges. But I am confident that together we can overcome these challenges. Because our country’s unity and diversity is our strength. Once again, thank you all for your love and the prayers, blessings, and affection you are giving me today.”
