Actor Tabu is reuniting with Akshay Kumar and acclaimed director Priyadarshan for their upcoming project titled Bhooth Bangla. After her recent role in Dune Prophecy, Tabu announced her involvement in this highly anticipated horror-comedy, sharing a sneak peek of her first day on set on Saturday, which thrilled fans about their new collaboration.

The trio, known for their iconic work in the cult classic Hera Pheri, has come together again. On Saturday, Tabu posted an image of a clapboard with candles in the foreground, which read, “Balaji Telefilms Ltd Presents Bhooth Bangla.” She captioned the post with the phrase “Hum yahan bandh hain” (We are trapped here).

Additionally, actors Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, who have teamed up again for Priyadarshan’s Bhooth Bangla, shared a photo from the film’s schedule in Jaipur. After wrapping up filming in Mumbai, the cast and crew moved to the Pink City for outdoor shoots. Akshay Kumar was spotted soaking up the winter sun on set, where he looked shirtless alongside Paresh Rawal. Sharing their photo together, Rawal commented, “A Shining star enjoying Winter Sun at Jaipur with Mr FIT @akshaykumar on the shoot of BHOOT BANGLA!”

Akshay shared the same photo on X, writing, “It is an amazing day on set…good weather and great company!”

The two actors have previously collaborated in several films, including Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Garam Masala, and OMG. The shooting for Bhooth Bangla in Jaipur promises to capture the city’s iconic locations, offering a vibrant cultural backdrop for the film.

Bhooth Bangla is set to deliver an entertaining blend of chills and laughs, merging elements of a haunted house story with comedic touches. The production, directed by Priyadarshan, is led by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms, along with Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films.

The film is co-produced by Faara Sheikh and Vedant Baali, with the story crafted by Akash A Kaushik and the screenplay written by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair, and Priyadarshan, while Rohan Shankar also penned the dialogues. The theatrical release is scheduled for April 2, 2026.

While his remarks triggered widespread discussion online, the actor hasn’t formally announced his political entry.

Addressing members of his fan associations, Dhanush encouraged them to channel their collective strength towards welfare initiatives that could positively impact society. He urged his supporters to identify the needs of people in their local communities and extend help wherever possible, saying he wanted his fans to be known for their service rather than just their support for his films.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, is expected to make a record-breaking start at the box office, with trade analysts predicting an opening-day collection of around Rs 100 crore worldwide.

If the prediction proves accurate, the film could surpass the opening-day collections of blockbuster films such as Jailer, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), and Pathaan, making it one of the biggest openings in Indian cinema.

Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, Jana Nayagan was Vijay’s final film before his full-time entry into politics. The movie also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, and Gautham Vasudev Menon in key roles. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on July 23, 2026.
